AI Starts With the Information Architecture

Enterprise AI does not exist in isolation. It depends on the data, metadata, business definitions, organisational structures, systems and controls underneath it. Datacogence helps organisations build those foundations.

The foundation

Trusted AI begins with trusted information.

Data contracts establish expectations between producers and consumers. Data quality measures whether those expectations are being met. Lineage explains where information came from and how it changed. Business glossaries establish common meaning. MDM creates trusted entities. Organisational models provide the context of people, functions, processes, systems and accountability.

Why this matters

Capability is not the same as authorisation.

An AI agent may be technically capable of reasoning and acting. The enterprise still needs to know what information it can trust, who owns that information, what the information means, which actions are authorised and how those actions can be audited. That is the information architecture behind operational AI.
